Dr. Roman Mykhailyshyn is a Visiting Scholar at the Texas Robotics, College of Natural Sciences and the Cockrell School of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin (USA) working with Prof. Ann Majewicz Fey. From 2021 to 2022 Dr. Mykhailyshyn was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Department of Robotics Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) working with Prof. Jing Xiao. Also, he is an Associate Professor of Department of Automation Technological Processes and Manufacturing at Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (Ukraine). From 2023 Dr. Mykhailyshyn is a Adjunct Professor at the EPAM School of Digital Technologies, American University Kyiv (Powered by Arizona State University). He received Ph.D. in Engineering from Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University. The experimental part of the dissertation was conducted at the National Center of Robotics of the Slovak Republic under the mentorship of Prof. František Duchon. Dr. Mykhailyshyn was awarded the Scholarship of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists in 2020-2022, 2022-2024 and the 2022 Machines Young Investigator Award MDPI. He was awarded the Ternopil City Council in the nomination “Young scientists and researchers” in 2020 and the Ternopil Regional State Administration and Ternopil Regional Council in 2018. Dr. Mykhailyshyn is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Technical Committees: Robotic Hand Grasping and Manipulation, Mechanisms and Design, Soft Robotics.

Dr. Mykhailyshyn is an author of more than 30 articles, published in leading scholarly journals in robotics, computing, engineering, and manufacturing. His research focuses on robotics, motion planning and optimization, modeling of physical systems, additive manufacturing, minimization of energy costs for transport operations by industrial robots, and design of gripping devices for industrial robots. He served as a member of the review editorial board of Frontiers in Robotics and AI, topical advisory panel member of Machines and Guest Editor for a special issue “Advanced Grasping and Motion Control Solutions” of Robotics. He is also on the reviewer board of the International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, IEEE Access, Machines, Robotics, Applied Sciences, International Journal of Manufacturing, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, and many others.
